Rose Mary Chasteen

Rose Mary Chasteen, 58, of Galesburg, died at 3:48 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at home. She was born July 22, 1951 in Sunbright, Tennessee the daughter Melvina L. Camper.  She married Richard A. Chasteen on November 15, 1970 in Galesburg.  He survives.  Also surviving is a son, Michael L. Chasteen of Galesburg, daughter, Terrie Ann (Matthew) Roden of East Galesburg, and grandchildren; Marcus Lowthian, Justin McCormick, Christopher Cauthon, Samantha Pearson, and Alex Roden.  She was preceded in death by her mother. She attended Tennessee Preparatory School.  Rose was a certified nurse’s aide and last worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, retiring in 2006.  She was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Family and friends will gather at Bethel Baptist Church following the burial for fellowship and a meal.  Memorials may be made to the family.
