Rosemary Gutierrez, 78, of Galesburg, died Thursday, October 10, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.


She was born February 28, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Helen R. Guerrero. Rosemary worked at the former Maytag for many years. She later worked at The Patio Bar and Grill for many years.


Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Tricia Rasso and Christina (Eliseo) Jimenez, both of Galesburg; eight grandchildren: Justin Jones, Jessica Brown, Chris Rasso, Jared Rasso, Erika Jimenez, Michael Ramos, Armando Jimenez, and Orlando Jimenez; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Lupe (Jean) Guerrero, Lenny (Chris) Guerrero, and Ronnie Guerrero; and two sisters: Diane (Miguel) Rosiles and Helen “Princy” Guerrero; all of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her mother; and the man who helped raise her, her papa Leonard Guerrero.


Rosemary was of the Catholic faith and past member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, hanging out at the Patio, and sometimes sitting outside enjoying a cold Miller High Life. Rosemary loved to dance and listen to music, especially to her favorite, Santana. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Rosemary was a devoted and loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed.


Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after services. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
