Ruth A. Wells

Ruth A. Wells, 73, of 1370 Monroe St, Galesburg, died at 3:23 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at home. Ruth was born on March 9, 1934 in Stronghurst, the daughter of William Silas and Millie A. Magee Tracy. She married Richard Wells on June 18, 1949 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1994. Surviving Ruth are 3 daughters, Sharon Day, Kathy (Randy) Atwater, and Anna (Tom) Stone all of Galesburg; a brother, Charles Tracy of Oquawka; a granddaughter, Kathy “Sis” (Mike) Doney of Galesburg; 2 grandsons, Richard “Bub” (Lorie) Atwater and Randy (Lori) Atwater both of Galesburg; and 2 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Watson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kirk Kendall, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family.
