Ruth Ann Bewley

Ruth Ann Bewley, 57, of Wataga, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, 5:05 PM, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. Ruth Ann was born on November 15, 1958. She was the daughter of Jack K. and Elizabeth (Betty) Catherine Bewley. She is survived by the love of her life, Lewis Brown of Hillsdale; her loving daughters; Tracey (Angela) Hepner, of Wataga; Elizabeth (Jeremy) Turnipseed, of Galesburg; and Jessica Overhake, of Wataga; brothers, Jerry (Kathy) Bewley, and Jack Bewley, both of Wataga; and Donnie (Carrie) Bewley, of Galesburg; five grandchildren, Kirstian, Charly, Jalene, Jr., and Bryana; and beloved dogs, Tia and JD. Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joshua James Leonard; and a sister, Jamie Lynn Bryd. Ruth Ann graduated from Galesburg High School in 1978. She was an extremely hard worker, raising her three daughters on her own, and known to keep busy and not being able to be still for long. She recently worked as a cashier at the FS store, was a bartender and helped clean The Depot in Wataga. She loved to do wood work, and was currently working on remodeling her home. She loved to do anything artistic, and garden, especially flowers. Most of all, she loved to spend as much time with her loving family, friends, beloved dogs, and her fish. Per Ruth Ann’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Ruth Ann’s life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5-7 PM, at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Ruth Ann’s honor may be given to the family to help with funeral costs.
