Sally B. Campbell-Kern, 76, of Galesburg, died at 10:52 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Heartland Health Care, Galesburg. Sally was born May 26, 1940 in Galesburg, the daughter of Glenn H. and Pauline B. Riggs Campbell. She married James Enloe. She later married Donald E. Kern on July 14, 1990 in Galesburg. He survives of Galesburg as well as one son, Jeffrey (Mitzi) Enloe of Galesburg; one daughter, Kristine Enloe of Galesburg; one grandson, Jomo Akpore; and one great grandson, Malaki Akpore. She is also survived by one brother, John H. (Nikki) Campbell of Galesburg and one sister, Carol (Doug) McGrew of Phoenix, AZ. Along with her parents, Sally was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Blixt and Phyllis Ziegler. Sally graduated from Western Illinois University as a physical education teacher. She taught in Steele and Gale grade schools for 18 years, retiring in 1994. Sally was an active member of the Women's Club, Class of 1958 Reunion Club, and the Retired Teachers Association. Sally sang in the Sweet Adeline's for several years as well as being involved with Cursillo for many years. She loved to gamble at the river boats. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Rev. Rick Schriber and Rev. Scott Wilson will both officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be sent to the Knox County Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
