It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Fouts, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed peacefully on Saturday January 11, 2025 at her home. Born on May 19, 1952 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Maurice and Violet (Wust) Wardell. Sandra’s 72 years were filled with love and unforgettable memories.


Sandra is survived by her children, Tonya (Rudy) Garza, Arcelia (Tony) O’Reilly, Joshua (Cheryl) Johnson, and Levi (Tasha) Fouts; one brother, Kermit (Gina) Wardell; and one sister, Bonnie (Paul) Williams.


Her cherished legacy includes 20 grandchildren: Kendall Smith, Eric (Amber) Shelton, Diandre Shelton, Ieshia Keller, Alysia (Jonathon) Tijerina, Kaydin Carter, Karyssa Garza, Matthew Garza, Gabriella Garza, Mikahla (Dylan) Skipton, Colyn (Heidi) Crane, Hunter Wardell, Brayden Godsil, Caibre Godsil, Brandon O’Reilly, Blake O’Reilly, Jayden Johnson, McKynzie Johnson, Brody Johnson, and Zayne Johnson. She was also immensely proud of her 26 great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.


Sandra dedicated over 30 years of her professional life to Maytag, where she retired after building meaningful friendships and demonstrating exceptional dedication. Above all, Sandra loved her family deeply and was incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the joy they brought to her life. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her loved ones, sharing moments around campfires, fishing, and enjoying the tranquility of the beach. These simple pleasures exemplified her love for life and family.


Her battle with cancer over the past 16 months revealed her unparalleled strength and grace. Though she ultimately lost this fight, she gained eternal peace and a heavenly reunion with her loving parents, her three sisters, and her precious great-grandson, Bellamy Skipton.


Sandra’s compassion, joy, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends for generations to come.


Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Rest in peace, Sandra. Your love and spirit will forever shine in our hearts.
