Sarah E. Davis

Sarah Elizabeth Davis, 71, of Williamsfield, died at 3:37 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Sarah was born December 27, 1942 in Champaign, the daughter of Maxine Branch Davis.  Sarah is survived by her sister, Janis Powell of Maquon; two nieces, JoLee Clark and Christine Whitlatch; three great nieces; and one great nephew.  She was preceded in death by her mother in 1953, an infant sister, and a sister, Jean Marie Carlson. Sarah lived in Canton for several years prior to moving to Galesburg, where she lived until she retired to the Williamsfield Cila.  While living in Galesburg, Sarah attended day training at KCCDD.  Sarah was very artistic and creative and loved to draw and color pictures.  She loved to go on group outings, especially shopping trips.  Sarah will be remembered for her sweet and considerate spirit, didn’t have a mean bone in her body, and was always agreeable. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Visitation will be one half hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Memorials contributions can be directed to the Guardian Angels Humane Society or to Knox County Humane Society.
