Scott R. Mellican

Scott R. Mellican, 56, of Galesburg, passed away August 1, 2020. He was born July 17, 1964 in Galesburg to Theodore “Ted” and Marilyn (Norquist) Mellican.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ted in 2018.  Scott is survived by his mother, Marilyn; his brother, Steve; his sister, Sarah; his niece, Nikki; his nephew, Josh and wife, Jess; three great nephews and a great niece. Scott graduated from Galesburg High School in 1982.  He obtained an Associate in Applied Science Accounting Degree from Carl Sandburg College in 1985.  Scott was most recently self-employed doing home renovations and repairs.  Scott liked spending time with his friends.  Like his father, Scott would start a conversation with anyone. Cremation has been accorded.  Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
