Sharon Ann Hambsch, 76, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 12:25 p.m. April 1, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

Sharon was born September 18, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Wendell E. and Laura M. (Haynes) Price. Sharon married Philip E. Hambsch on December 18, 1965 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2004.

Sharon is survived by her and Phil’s three children, daughter, Staci (Kevin Haley) Lovell of Oneida, Illinois; and two sons, Timothy (Sheila) Hambsch and Bradley (Tracy Brennan) Hambsch both of Galesburg. Sharon is also survived by her beloved eight grandchildren, Adam Hambsch, Lukas (McKenzie) Hambsch, Zakary (Sidney) Hambsch, Kelcy (Gavin) Quigley, Madisen (Derrick) Hicks, Kennedy Voigt, Cierra Hambsch, and Annalyn Lovell; and eight great grandchildren with two on the way. Also surviving is Sharon’s sister, Judy “Aunt BooBoo” Bettisworth of Galesburg; and one sister-in-law, Mary Kay (James) Vlazny. Along with her husband and parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Price; and a sister, Wendy Wilson.

Sharon worked short stents as a beautician at O.T. Johnson’s and Admiral but mostly enjoyed her time at home caring for and raising her three children. Sharon enjoyed being outdoors gardening, including Asparagus farming, enjoying the beauty of nature, bird watching, and fishing. Sharon enjoyed watching sports on television as well as her many visits from her children and grandchildren. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed canning her garden vegetables. In her younger years, Sharon was an avid bowler and Bridge player. However, her greatest joys in life were watching her grandchildren grow and thoroughly loved helping others in any way she was able.

Private family services will be held and burial will be beside her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025 at Lake Bracken Country Club. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Costa Catholic Academy.
