Stanley W. Henry

Stanley Wayne “Stan the Man” Henry, 58, of Galesburg, died at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Stan was born September 23, 1954 in Galesburg.  He graduated from ROVA High School in 1973.  He was a union drywaller and finisher and also owned his own company.  He married Susie Lynn in 1980.  They later divorced but remained very close.  He is survived by 2 sons, Jacob Harrison (Tonya) Henry and Justin John (Jacque) Henry both of Galesburg; and his mother, Patricia Henry of Galesburg.  He is also survived by 2 brothers, Johnny Mike (Pat) Henry and Richard (Penny) Henry both of Victoria; 2 sisters, Patty Kay Johnson of Dubuque, IA and Tina (Simitrio) Saldivar of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his beloved pets, Billy Bob the cat and Mildred the dog.  He was preceded in death by his father, John, a sister, Lori and a nephew Tommy, and both grandparents. But the one true love of his life was his granddaughters, Athena Rose, Josephine Isabelle, Jensen Scarlett, and Julian Colette.  He would spend hours just holding them as babies and later he loved to play with them on the floor.  He was a wonderful grandpa and very grateful to have them in his life.  May he find the peace he so needed and watch over his girls. Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4-6 p.m.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established for his granddaughters education.
