Stella Frakes

Stella's Video Tribute Stella Frakes, 78, of Galesburg, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Heartland Health Care, Galesburg. Stella was born October 29, 1935 in Galesburg, the daughter of Michael and Ruby Roc Zefo.  She married Ronald Frakes, Sr. on June 18, 1955 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Stella is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ron; three sons, Ron (Jayne) Frakes, Jr., Todd (Cara) Frakes, and Mart (Heather) Frakes all of Galesburg; and one brother, Roche (Annie) Zefo of Davis, CA.  She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Michael (Alexis) Frakes, Nikki (Josh) Chase, Victoria (Corbin) Meador, Samantha (Adam) McDaniel, Lindsay Frakes, Justin Frakes, and Aaron Frakes; and four great grandchildren, Mia Chase, Tristin Frakes, Gavin Frakes, and Hudson Meador. Stella worked at Grant’s Dime store in Galesburg for several years prior to having children.  After Ron, Jr. was born, Stella stayed home raised the children and took care of the house.  Faith and family were the most important things in Stella’s life.  She was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and loved spending as much time as she could with her family.  She also loved to collect and decorate the house with antiques. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9:30 -11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Luncheon will follow the burial at Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials may be made in Stella’s memory to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
