Stephen R. Jones

Stephen R. Jones, 71, 179 Lincoln St., Galesburg, died at 3:20 p.m. May 5, 2009 at home.   He was born on January 1, 1937 in Easton, MD the son of Ralph C. and Grace O. Stevens Jones. He married Donna Hiles on August 9, 1974. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2000. Surviving are a step son, Samuel Anderson of Winter Park, FL; 3 step daughters, Carrie Anderson of Chicago, Wynee Glasnovich of Atlanta, GA, and Sarah Mitchell of Cameron; and 6 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.   Stephen was an inspector for Western Illinois Food Express for many years. He served in the US Marine Corp. He was a member of Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council #556 and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.    Memorial Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.   Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.watsonfh.net. Watson Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
