Steven C. Lischwe

Steven Charles Lischwe, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away on June 28, 2024.

Born on April 24. 1953 in St. Paul, MN to Anthony and Marcelline (Kimmes) Lischwe. Shortly, thereafter, the family moved to Galesburg, IL. Steve attended Immaculate Heart of Mary and Costa Catholic High School in Galesburg, IL, where he was active in basketball and golf. After graduating in 1971, Steve went on to study botany in college. Following completion of his studies, he received his insurance license and returned to Galesburg to work for Lischwe Insurance. Steve was an avid conservationist, enjoyed gardening, and playing billiards. He later moved to Kaiser, MO, spending his retirement farming and tending to livestock.

Steve was preceded in death by his brother Michael Lischwe, PhD., and his parents, Anthony and Marcelline. He is survived by his siblings, Dr. Catherine Wright (Dr. John), Mark Lischwe J.D., (Kelly), Dr. Timothy Lischwe (Kalise), Dr. Jane Lischwe (Larry), Mary Hollen (John), and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been accorded. A visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2024, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Watson Thomas Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary Street, Galesburg, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2401 N. Broad Street, Galesburg. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.
