Susan Kay Anderson, 71, of Galesburg, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at home. Susan was born December 6, 1943 in Monmouth, the daughter of Robert W. and Anna Belle Harris Danforth. She married Ed Stevens. Together they had one daughter, Wendy. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Todd) Newburgh of Galesburg; a sister, Jackie (Dan) Watson of Canton; her step father, Jack Soper of Galesburg; her beloved grandchildren, A.J., Brooke, and Brenden McCoy; and a special friend, Don Krebs. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert Danforth, Jr. and Michael Danforth. Susan grew up in Cameron. She worked at Maytag for 38 years, retiring in May of 1996. Susan loved tending to her flower gardens. She enjoyed camping, was a huge Coca-Cola collector, and loved James Bond movies. She loved taking care of people, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, they were her life. Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Private burial will be at a later date in Silent Home Cemetery, Cameron. Memorials may be made to the family.
