Terry J. Lytle

Terry J. Lytle, 65, of Galesburg, died on Monday, December 18, 2017, 5:15 PM, at her home. Terry was born on December 17, 1952, in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Eugene and Patricia (Stephens) Fosburg. Terry is survived by her two children, Eric (Maggie) Lytle of Washington, Illinois and Rebecca (Matt Fisher) Lytle of Galesburg; her sister, Linda (Robert) Althaus of Camanche, Iowa; and her granddaughter, Celeste Lytle of Washington, Illinois. Terry was preceded in death by her parents. Terry was a 1972 graduate of Galesburg High School. She worked in the dietary department at Marigold Nursing and Rehab and then later for the Galesburg School District at Gale Elementary. She loved to help her neighbors or anyone she felt was in need. Terry loved animals, especially her parakeets. She had a sarcastic sense of humor that led to a talent for making people laugh. She created her own jokes and would write them down to share later. She loved to spend time with her family, especially when she became “Gram-T”, which is the name she requested Celeste would call her. She was very loved and will be deeply missed. Per Terry’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials in Terry’s honor may be donated to the Knox County Humane Society.
