Theresa Rose Taylor

Theresa Rose Taylor, 76, of Galesburg, died at 5:16 a.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Theresa was born December 13, 1936 in Galesburg, the daughter of Julian A. and Marguerite L. (Fitzsimmons) Mitchell.  She married Clyde Taylor on November 21, 1973 in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on April 30, 2001.  Theresa is survived by three brothers, William (Phyllis) Mitchell of Galesburg, Robert Mitchell of Long Beach, CA, and John (Janet) Mitchell of Galesburg; 3 sisters, Eloise (Kenneth) Fransen of Orion, Mary Patricia Koons of Oceanside, CA, and Carole Ritter of Morton; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters. Theresa first worked as a beautician and then later worked as a seamstress for Galesburg Research Hospital for many years, until her retirement.  She was of the Catholic faith and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary and Corpus Christi Catholic Church’s.  Theresa was a member of the O.A.K.S. where she enjoyed being with her friends and playing cards.  She also enjoyed playing bingo, painting, and making crafts. A rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, with a memorial service immediately following.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be directed to the O.A.K.S.
