Thomas J. Moran

Thomas J. “Tom” Moran, 59, of Galesburg, died on Friday, May 31, 2019, 6:44 PM, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Tom was born on April 11, 1960, in Harvey, Illinois. He was the son of George and Pat Moran. Tom was survived by two brothers, Tim (Stacy) Moran of Albia, Iowa and Michael (Candice) Moran of Kokomo, Indiana; and two sisters, Julie Moran of Oceanside, Ca and Melissa (John) Puetz of Fallbrook, Ca. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom served in the US Marines from 11/1979 to 1/1983, being honorably discharged as an E4.  Tom loved music especially “The Grateful Dead,” Bob Dylan, jazz and blues. He loved to read about history, especially any subject matter pertaining to World War II.  He was very patriotic, and especially proud of his family’s military background. He loved his pets and he loved his family. Tom’s family deeply cherishes the outpouring of condolences and support that have been shared by his friends during this time of loss. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. A private family committal service will be held in San Diego, CA. Arrangements have been entrusted with Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
