Velma Theobald

Velma Theobald, 82, Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, died at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville. Velma was born on December 18, 1925 in Maquon, the daughter of Everett and Edna Blakey Delawder.  She married Carl W. Theobald on March 27, 1948 in Galesburg.  He died on January 1, 1992.  Surviving Velma are two sons, Ronald (Darlys) of Cameron and Frank (Juni) of Galesburg; a daughter, Becky (Kent) Bowton of Galesburg; six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Dianne in 1957 and three brothers. Velma was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a homemaker. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Corpus Christi Church.  Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Knox County Nursing Home.
