Vicki A. Stevens

Vicki A. Stevens, 65, of Galesburg, died at 12:36 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Vicki was born on June 26, 1947 in Galesburg, the daughter of Richard and Marge C. (Krupps) Miller.  Vicki married Edward Stevens on May 12, 1979 in Galesburg.  She is survived by her husband, Ed of Galesburg; her mother, Marge Garrison of Galesburg; one son, Jason (Erin) Stevens of Round Rock, TX; one daughter, Stephanie (John) Washabaugh of Crystal Lake; one step daughter, Wendy (Todd) Newburgh of Galesburg; and numerous cousins who were very dear to her heart.   Vicki is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Charles Funk, A.J. McCoy, Brooke McCoy, Zach Wilke, Brenden McCoy, Kevin Stevens, Jordan Stevens, and Corinne Stevens.  She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wilke in 2010; her father, Richard Miller; and her step father, James Garrison. Vicki’s life always involved her family.  She loved being with everyone and loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports.  Vicki had a big and generous heart, she did a lot of charitable work with St. Vincent DePaul and the American Cancer Society.  She worked at  Giant Foods and Costa Catholic Academy in the cafeteria for several years. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  The rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Thursday April 11, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, with a visitation following from 5 to 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Costa Catholic Academy.
