Victor R. Justus, 56, of Galesburg, died at 11:57 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Victor was born July 31, 1962 in San Diego, CA the son of Richard Lee and Linda Gayle (Whited) Justus, Sr. Victor married Sharron “Sharrie” Kaye Hathaway on June 1, 1994 in Knoxville. Victor is survived by his wife, Sharrie, two sons, Marshall (Ciera) Woodruff of Shell Knob, MO and Christian Justus of Galesburg; two daughters, Brandy (Joel) Burton of Branson, MO and Kamille Justus of Galesburg; and four grandchildren, Adilynn, Housten, Braelynn, and Austen. Victor is also survived by two sisters, Victoria Latoure of Glendale, AZ and Sandra (Michael) Robbins of China Springs, TX; along with five nephews and two nieces. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Richard L. Justus, Jr. Victor was an over the road truck driver for various companies for 22 years, retiring in 2018. Victor was a loving and caring husband and father and he loved his grandchildren deeply. He will be remembered as a unique person with a great ability to tell a story. He also loved to tell jokes. He was also fluent in Spanish and enjoyed watching “Ghost Adventures.” Victor loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, eating, and was a self-proclaimed grill master. In recent years Victor had been enjoying feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard. Victor also loved music. In accordance with the Anatomical Gift Act, Mr. Justus has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or to the Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis Association.
