Walter L. Fellers

Walter L. Fellers, 70, died on October 16, 2012 quietly at home with his family. He was born March 19, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Ray and Elizabeth Dawson Fellers.  They preceded him in death.  He graduated from Technical High School in Omaha, NE in 1960.  He was discharged from the US Coast Guard in 1968.  He attended trade schools majoring in business and finance.  Walt worked in sales for many years at Caterpillar.  He was recently employed in truck sales for Center State International Inc.  Walt is survived by his wife Sharon; a daughter from a previous marriage, Kelly (Tim) Lewis of Republic, MO; a daughter, Raye (Randy) Hovind of Galesburg; two step daughters, Valerie (Chris) Tracy of Rapid City, SD, and Carsin (Paul) Olson of Perry, IA.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Walt was a long time member of Lake Bracken County Club, and was an avid golfer.  He ran a drag car in his youth, was a lifelong member of the NHRA and supporter of DRAW (Drag Racing Association of Women).  He was loved by his family and many friends.  Walt was baptized in the Lutheran faith. Walt’s wishes will be honored and he will be cremated and no services will be planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
