Walter T. Jones

Walter Thomas Jones, age 88, of Galesburg, died at 12:39 A.M. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. On March 20, 1933, Walter was born in Glendale, California. He would go on to work for over 30 years as an aircraft design engineer for the major American aerospace manufacturing corporation and defense contractor, McDonnell Douglas, until his retirement. He was married to Diane Sue West on October 12, 1984 in Oxnard, California. Left to cherish Walter’s memory is his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Diane Jones of Galesburg, and his two daughters: Barbara Jones and Deana Jones, both of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara. Walter had a deep love for aviation and his favorite past time was building, repairing, and of course flying his remote-control airplanes. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
