Wanita I. Meehan

Wanita I. Meehan, 84, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, died at 3:58 a.m. August 19, 2006 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was born on November 1, 1921 in Pardeeville, WI the daughter of Julius and Lois Sandborn Dolajeck.  She married James Leo Meehan on June 28, 1941 in Rockford.  He died in 1971.  Surviving are 2 sons;  LaRue of Monmouth, and James (Betty) of Peoria.  2 daughters;  LaRita (Dave) Miller of Erie, and Cecilia Murphy of Washington.  1 sister Evelyn Janish of Pardeeville WI.  Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 granddaughter. She worked as a mental health technician at the Galesburg Mental Health Center in Galesburg for many years, retiring in 1981.  She was educated in the Portage, WI school system.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 22 at Watson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.
